THINKING ENVIRONMENT COACHING COURSE
Are you interested in becoming a Time To Think Coach? After you complete the Thinking Partnership Course, this is your next step.
The Coaching Course (6 x half-day sessions) deepens the expertise and knowledge you gained from The Thinking Partnership Course, equipping you to take this process into your coaching practice. The course also introduces the 'Spectrum of Independence', addressing the place of this process in the world of coaching and the Diversity process, removing group identity limiting assumptions.
It is taught in a Thinking Environment and is highly practice-based and interactive. Completing this course, you then would undertake the Practicum work (see below), supervised by me. Successfully completing that work, and joining the Time To Think Collegiate, you would become qualified as a Time To Think Coach.
Practicum Work for the Coaching Course
After completion of the four days, you will begin the practicum stage of the course which should be completed and submitted within 6 months.
The practicum work asks that you:
1. PRACTICE COACHING SESSIONS Practice-coach two people three sessions each (six sessions in total). After each session, write/record a summary of the session and notes of your learning, as well as questions that the session raised for you.
2. EXPLICATING THE PAUSES Demonstrate your competence in thinking through the 'considerations' that lead to the best choice of next question for the Thinker. Your Practicum Faculty will be in touch after day 4 of the course to let you know how they how they want you to demonstrate that competence.
3. CHARACTERISING THE THINKING SESSION AS COACHING Communicate to your Practicum Faculty (in whatever form they request) your responses to these questions: a - In what ways do you think the Thinking Session is a genuine and effective coaching framework? b - What do you think are the features of the Thinking Session that are not usually found in other coaching approaches that you will need to explain to your clients? How would you explain each of them?
4. TWICE-WEEKLY THINKING SESSIONS During the period of your learning and qualifying, continue to refine and advance your expertise by having two Thinking Sessions per week, confirming progress by email with your Practicum faculty mentor.
